CEDAR BLUFFS – Cedar Bluffs High School was one of a select group of high schools to receive the EF High School Global Excellence Award from the EF High School Exchange Year.

This was in recognition of its commitment to providing opportunities to international exchange students at their schools.

The EF High School Exchange Year is an EF Education First program used to connect international exchange students with host families across the United States.

During the 2018-2019 school year, Cedar Bluffs High School hosted two EF High School Exchange Year exchange students, Sebastian Elliasson of Sweden and Fenja Siemens of Germany. Both became involved with multiple academic and extracurricular activities during their stay.

“Our stay at Cedar Bluffs High School has been amazing,” said Elliasson. “We were able to participate in all the sports that were offered, basketball, football or volleyball and track and field, which is something I would not have had the experience of trying back home. We will never forget out time in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska; and we know we will always be welcome here.”

“We thank Cedar Bluffs High School for welcoming this year’s students from around the globe. The community and visiting students shared an unforgettable experience thanks to the generosity of Cedar Bluffs High School administration, teachers, students and families,” said Exchange Coordinator Daniel Rathe added.
