MALMO – The Malmo Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its annual tractor drive this Sunday.
Sign up for the drive is 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. that morning, with the drive starting at noon.
There is a $30 entry fee, which includes breakfast, ride, one poker card and a meal afterwards.
Tractor Drive Coordinator Paul Kremlacek said the route for the ride is changed every year, making each year a fresh experience for long-time drivers.
This year’s route covers 37 miles. After leaving Malmo, the group will head to Weston, Touhy, Prague and then back to Malmo.
Kremlacek said the riders should be back to Malmo about 5 p.m.
While each year varies in attendance, Kremlacek said the drive typically has a good turnout, with 50 to 75 coming to town to watch and anywhere from 80 to 100 drivers.
“We had up to 120 before,” Kremlacek said.
For those not going on the ride, there will be a $5 breakfast and dinner available. All proceeds earned from the food and tractor entry fees will go to the fire department.
Kremlacek said he was looking forward to the drive.
“I love it all. It’s a fun time with friends and family,” Kremlacek said.
The Malmo Fire Department Facebook page will be kept up to date regarding weather or route changes. Jeeps are welcome to join the drive and will follow the tractors.
