Robert E. Matulka VALPARAISO - Robert "Bob" E. Matulka, 65, of Valparaiso entered into eternal rest on June 5, 2019 at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford. He was born June 19, 1953 in Lincoln to Peter L. Jr. and Wilma Jean (Anderson) Matulka. Bob graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1971. On Aug. 18, 1972, Bob was married to Cathy Keane at St. Mary Catholic Church in Davey and to this union three children were born, Renae, Jackie and BJ. Bob farmed most of his life near Valparaiso. He also operated a grain elevator with his father, distributed feed for Golden Sun and worked as a hail adjustor for Farmers Mutual. Bob was a member of Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, where he served as an acolyte for many years and was with the Knights of Columbus. Bob enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding horses and team penning, in which his team won a State Championship in 1993. He is survived by children, Renae (Mike) Jacobson of Elm Creek, Jackie (Chris) Vaughn of Liberty Township, Ohio and BJ (Kristin) Matulka of Dwight; grandchildren, Jade Matulka, Evelyn Matulka, Vivienne Matulka, Drake Vaughn, Ashtyn Vaughn, Chase Jacobson and Tyler Jacobson; brothers, Jim (Marla) Matulka of Valparaiso and Ron (Diane) Matulka of Val- paraiso; sister, Donna Matulka of Lincoln; many nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter L. Jr. and Wilma Jean Matulka; and grandchildren, Delani Vaughn and Jaxon Matulka. Mass of Christian Burial, is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15 Sat. (6/15/19) 10 a.m. at Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Valparaiso with Rev. Matthew Zimmer as celebrant. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary, all at the church. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Valparaiso. Memorials may go in care of the family. Visit to leave condolences.
