MITCHELL — University of Nebraska-Lincoln meat extension specialist Dennis Burson, gave a lamb cutting demonstration during the Nebraska Sheep and Goat Producers Association’s educational program and annual meeting, Saturday, Sept. 9, at Redz Café in downtown, Mitchell.

TORRINGTON, Wyo. — The Eastern Wyoming College Agriculture Department will host the 2nd annual Lancer Livestock Sale at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 9. The sale will be held in the Hog Barn on the Goshen County Fairgrounds. Viewing of livestock will begin at 10:30 a.m.

During the 2016 Nebraska State Fair, which was held from Aug. 26 to Sept. 5 at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds in Grand Island, 4-H members from across the state entered exhibits showcasing their skills in the areas of livestock, public speaking, photography, sewing, robotics and numerous other static exhibits. The State Fair is a chance for about 144,000 Nebraska 4-H youth, representing all 93 counties, to share what they have learned and worked on throughout the year. Only purple ribbon winners at county fair are eligible to advance to the Nebraska State Fair.

Labor Day weekend was an eventful weekend for many of the Scottsbluff FFA members at the 103rd annual Nebraska State Fair. Several members took time out of their busy schedules to prepare themselves and their animals for the big event. FFA members exhibited cattle, goats, swine, and lambs in the FFA division.
