YORK – The Bishop Neumann golf team finished sixth at the annual York Invitational on April 9.

Eighteen teams took part in the day-long 18-hole event.

The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 333. Grand Island Northwest won the meet with a 313.

Sophomore Boston Pentico finished in a tie for 15 at the meet after carding an 18-hole total of 82. Pentico shot a 40 on the front side and followed it up with a 42 on the back side.

Freshman Lauren Thiele and sophomore Patrick Kenney just missed out on earning medals after signing for 83’s.

Other Cavalier scores included an 85 from junior Lindsey Thiele and a 97 from senior Noah Briley.

Prior to competing in the York Invitational the Cavalier scored a triangular win over Archbishop Bergan and Guardian Angels Central Catholic.

Neumann finished with a team score of 161 at the nine hole event.

Lindsey Thiele fired a 2-over par 38 to lead the Cavaliers. Kenney was not far behind, finishing with a 39.

Lauren Thiele finished with a 41 and Pentico shot a 43.
