BRAINARD – The East Butler Tigers got 41 points from junior guard Jaden Rhynalds in a season-opening 70-46 victory over the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats in Brainard on Nov. 29.

The 41 points were a career-high for the Tiger junior and he added a team-high 12 rebounds and four steals.

“It was a good opening win. Jaden was fantastic getting to the rim and creating space for him to do his thing,” said East Butler Coach Greg Jahde.

Rhynalds and the Tigers led 25-7 after eight minutes and increased their halftime advantage to 45-23.

The Tiger lead got to 30 points after three quarters and reserves finished out the game in the fourth quarter.

Tigers Austin Pierce and Nolan Makovicka each added eight points and six rebounds against the Wildcats.

Tiger Dillon DeWitt added eight points on the strength of two 3-pointers.

“We rebounded well and took care of the basketball and those two things led to a nice win,” Jahde added.
