LINCOLN – The Waverly Viking girls basketball team was defeated in the Class B state semifinals by Northwest High School on Friday at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.
LINCOLN - After a fast start, the Waverly offense sputtered over the final three quarters and the quest for a state title came to and end with a 48-41 loss to Northwest High School on Friday afternoon at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
LINCOLN - The second-ranked Waverly Vikings advanced to the Class B state semifinals with a 50-39 opening round win over the Elkhorn Antlers at Pinnacle Bank Arena late Thursday night.
FIRTH – The Raymond Central boys basketball saw their season come to an end on Feb. 20 with a 66-22 setback at the hands of top-seeded Milford at Norris Middle School in Class the C1-2 semifinals.
OMAHA – Three Waverly wrestlers returned home with medals after outstanding performances at the Nebraska State Wrestling Championships at the CHI Health Center in Omaha over the weekend.
LINCOLN – The Raymond Central girls basketball team saw their season come to an end on Feb. 11 at the hands of Lincoln Lutheran 57-36 at Lincoln East High School.
WAVERLY – The second-ranked Waverly girls won three postseason home games last week, culminating with a 48-30 win over Beatrice in the Class B-1 district championship game in Waverly on Feb. 16.
AURORA – The Waverly wrestling team finished third with 117 team points at the Class B-3 district tournament in Aurora and qualified six individuals for the state meet in Omaha.
AURORA – The Raymond Central wrestling team finished fifth after scoring 105.5 team points at the Class B-3 district meet at Aurora High School on Feb. 8-9.
WAVERLY – The Waverly boys basketball team split games against Hastings and Plattsmouth last week starting with a 55-50 loss against the Tigers on Feb. 7.
FORT CALHOUN – The Raymond Central boys basketball team suffered losses at the hands of the Wahoo Warriors and Fort Calhoun Pioneers in Capitol Conference Tournament play last week.
RAYMOND – The Raymond Central girls basketball team ended a four-game losing streak after notching a 60-51 home win over Fort Calhoun on Jan. 25 in Capitol Conference Tournament play.
WAVERLY – The top-ranked and undefeated Waverly Vikings started the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament with a dominating performance against Plattsmouth at Waverly High School on Jan. 24.
RAYMOND – The Raymond Central girl’s basketball team dropped to 4-12 on the season after losing home contests at the hands of Wahoo on Jan. 15 and Logan View-Scribner-Snyder on Jan. 17.
SPRINGFIELD – The top-ranked and undefeated Waverly Vikings played just one time last week, making a trip to Springfield to take on the Platteview Trojans on Jan 17.
RAYMOND – The Raymond Central boys basketball team fell to 1-14 in the season after losing home games to Wahoo and Logan View-Scribner-Snyder last week.
SPRINGFIELD – The Waverly boys basketball team endured their fourth last second defeat in their past six games when they were upended on the road 50-49 against the Elkhorn Antlers on Jan 19.
WAVERLY – The top-ranked Waverly Vikings remained undefeated after earning a hard-fought road victory over the Beatrice Orangemen on Jan. 8.
FIRTH – The top-ranked Waverly Viking basketball team played just one time last week and remained undefeated by scoring a 48-42 win over the Norris Titans on the road on Jan. 4.
RAYMOND – The Raymond Central Mustang boys basketball team secured their first win of the season on Jan. 4 when they traveled to Arlington to take on the Eagles.
LINCOLN – The Raymond Central boys basketball team fell to 0-7 on the season after falling to host Lincoln Lutheran in the opening round of the Lincoln Lutheran Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28.
WAVERLY – The top-ranked Waverly girls basketball team improved to 7-0 with a 58 -53 victory over the third-ranked South Sioux City Cardinals in the opening round of the Waverly Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28.
